Mathieu Detry claimbed a beautiful 2nd position in the morning qualifications session of the Mugello 12H race meeting. It was not the ideal lap but he improved significantly our 2020 best time with a good set car; all the people were warned that the fight will be intense until the race finish due to the high level of the teams and drivers present in the TCR category, one of the most competitive during all the 24H Series championship.
Stéphane Perrin and Mathieu ended 2nd after the first 4 hours of the battle, driven good stints and the #188 AC Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS TCR was still in the lap of the leader for the restart at 10 o'clock saturday. Despite a very constant car with a good race pace and without any technical problems, we made two slight mistakes and had one time bad luck with race facts which cannot be caught up with the level of our rivals. We crossed the finish line 3rd TCR/TCE with some regrets, 17th over 43 cars overall but were in the fight for the victory during 10 of the 12 hours! Now in the lead in Drivers and Teams championships. We win and loose as a team; thanks to AC Motorsport for the trust and to the drivers. Keep improving, never give up and win at Paul Ricard 12H round April 23rd and 24th!
