2021 STCC finale took place at the little racetrack Ring Knutstorp from October 8th to 10th.
After two free practices session ran with no major issues, Robin Knutsson was caught in trafic in his last flying lap of the qualification session. Unfortunately, it was the P9 lap time and it was not enough to go in Q2. We knew that it will be difficult to go for a good result in this very narrow racetrack.
The driver of the #32 VW Golf GTI TCR Lestrup Racing Team pushed all the three races but despite some overtakes and a decent pace when not blocked behing one rival, the results not shew the good running of the driver/car pair...
A little deception in this last round, but the team can be proud of the improvment made through the year because the task was not easy jumping directly from go kart to this big and powerful FWD racing Golf! P9 in the final ranking of the championship, 3rd in the Junior Championship, a win, top 5 and 3 times in the Q2 session confirmed the good season of the rookie.
Thanks a lot to the fantastic Lestrup Racing Team, it has been a pleasure to work all the year long, congrats for the P2 in Teams championship, Junior title for Oliver Söderström and for the two race wins. See you soon!
