The team Delahaye Racing was back on the racetracks this weekend, with a 3 hours endurance race ran on the most beautiful track, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps! Two Marcos 1800GTs were entered in the main race of the 2023 Spa Summer Classic edition...
After convincing private tests, Pierre-Etienne Bordet on the 🔵 #28 improved his best lap time in the qualifying session and started P25 out of 67 cars entered, P2️⃣ class out of 11. He was accompanied by Laurent Richard. Not really clear laps for Emeric Bordet and Eric Decronumbourg on the 🔵 #30 who started P5️⃣ in class and P51 overall.
Saturday was synonymous of race day! Emeric began the race at the wheel of the Marcos #30 but had to put away the beautiful car quickly on the sides of the Ardennes route due to engine problems 💢. On the sister car, Pierre-Etienne drove a nice first stint and managed a good pit stop decided by the team under 🚕 Safety Car to pass the wheel to Laurent. After a slight exit from the track, the French driver 📈 went up in the classification and overtook his opponents one by one and found himself comfortably installed in first position in the category at P17 overall. Unfortunately, the mechanics decided otherwise with a ❌ broken transmission shaft at the exit of the bus stop chicane, under the eyes of the whole team... Hopes for good results were over.
Thanks to the team for the call and for their trust!
